Despite Struggling Economy 2011 Holiday Season Off to a Great Start

Despite the struggling economy, 2011 is expected to be the best private jet charter holiday travel season since 2007.

The recession caused private jet owners and operators to retire older aircraft and with newer (and smaller) streamlined fleets availability is expected to be severely restricted.

“We are seeing clients booking for the Christmas and New Years season already” said Ben Schusterman ElJet’s founder and President.

Clients who book in advance have the widest selection of aircraft available for their holiday charter needs. These clients will save significantly over what they would have paid if they waited until the last minute.

Whether you are looking for a Holiday private jet charter flight to Aspen, Vail, or Miami we are here to help and can offer some of the best prices in the industry.

To find out more about saving on your private jet charter needs this Holiday Season please give us a call at 888-355-3538 or email us at sales@ellejet.com.

ElJet Mentioned in Hawaii Business Magazine

ElJet Aviation Services Offers Private Flights to Honolulu

What’s It Worth? $$$$ $85,000 round-trip

There’s a way to avoid long airport lines and manhandling by TSA security agents, but it’ll cost you.

What: Charter a private jet to fly you and your friends from Honolulu to Los Angeles, and you won’t have to arrive at the airport two hours early. “The plane will not leave without you,” says Roberta Latham, sales manager for Los Angeles-based Eljet Aviation Services. The Gulfstream V heavy jet is among the most luxurious business jets and can comfortably seat up to 16 passengers, Latham says.

Perks: Travelers get their own flight attendant and two pilots, and can enjoy complimentary in-flight snacks and beverages. Meals can be arranged for an extra charge. “If a client wants, the flight attendant could actually go into the galley and cook their meal, that’s how equipped these jets are,” Latham says. Chartering a private jet won’t shave off flight time, she adds, “but it’s not about that, it’s about the experience.”

Who: ElJet’s most popular route is between L.A. and New York, but it gets one or two private charters a month from Honolulu to the Mainland. “Our customers are the very, very wealthy, celebrities, CEOs and business executives,” she says. “They’re people who want the best and can afford it.”

ElJet: Private Jet Charter Company Named to Inc. 500 List For The Second Year In A Row

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 23, 2011

U.S.-based private jet charter company ElJet has been named to the influential Inc.500|5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America for the second year in a row. ElJet ranked number 420 out of 5000 companies on the list.

Inc. Magazine creates the Inc.500|5000 list by evaluating the prior four years sales results (2007 – 2010) of all companies that apply for this honor.

This accomplishment can be attributed to two simple factors; an increase in customer referrals and overall customer satisfaction (over 90 percent of ElJet’s business is from repeat clientele). In addition, ElJet continues to benefit from the growing migration of clients of competitors who hold jet cards, and fractional shares seeking value and cost savings for their private jet travel needs.

Customer Service
“Once again our customers have spoken by continuing to use our service and by recommending us to their friends and business associates”, said Ben Schusterman, President and Founder of ElJet. “Clients of the big fractional and jet card providers have realized that they can get the identical product, any aircraft, on their own schedule, with the same level – if not higher – of customer service, which is why we have seen such incredible growth even through these economically challenging times. Not to mention savings of 50% or more and no risk of monthly fees, rapidly depreciating aircraft and the shock of unexpected charges.”

Value
ElJet focuses on providing customers with top-notch customer service and incredible value for their money. ElJet provides that value by utilizing empty leg (or “deadhead”) flights whenever possible. Its traditional charter business is also one of the largest in the industry. Empty legs are flights that are booked only one way and return to the starting point empty. This typically means a loss for the aircraft owner, who will often charter the empty leg portion of the flight at a significant discount. Empty legs have been an industry headache since the creation of the aircraft charter industry – ElJet has been relieving some of that pain, much to the delight of businesses and individuals requiring private jet service at a discount.

One-Ways
ElJet provides additional value by offering one-way pricing on 90 percent of flights flown. If an ElJet client requires more than one or two days on the ground it is often less expensive to charter an aircraft twice, rather than paying to keep the aircraft stationary in one location. Utilizing its vast network of empty legs and its close relationship with one-way operators ElJet can typically provide one-way pricing for each portion of an extended-stay trip.

Safety
Every ElJet flight is accompanied by a comprehensive Wyvern Safety Pass Report. This report checks the history of the aircraft; the operator’s insurance coverage; and the pilot’s experience in the specific class of aircraft chartered. If the report does not pass on all counts, the flight does not depart.
Furthermore, ElJet maintains membership to the esteemed Air Charter Association of North America (ACANA). ACANA members are internationally recognized by customers and charter operators alike as meeting the highest standards of ethics and the utmost level of commitment to customer safety, quality and service.

Streamlined Booking
ElJet’s booking process is one of the simplest in the jet charter industry. The company offers quotes in 60 seconds or less and can often get clients on their way within two hours of finalizing booking (compared to ten hours or more for many of its competitors).

ElJet goes a step further for qualified clientele. These clients (members of the ElJet Charter Select Streamlined Booking Program) can book a flight by simply sending a one-word e-mail. “Our busy clientele have repeatedly told us that this convenience alone is a good reason for them to keep coming back. We appreciate and value each and every client, and make it our business to be familiar with their specific needs, from aircraft requirements to specifics like food allergies, catering preferences and more,” said Roberta Latham, Senior Charter Portfolio Manager at ElJet.

About ElJet
ElJet Charter Portfolio Managers are on call 24/7 to assist with any private travel needs. Representatives can be reached at 888-355-3538 or by submitting a request at http://www.ellejet.com. Leaving On A Jet Plane

Fantastic article about the love affair (now non-existent) of flying commercially.

I used to love airplanes. I was a bit nervous at takeoff most of the time – I’m not sure why I wasn’t just as anxious when the plane landed, but I wasn’t – but I loved everything else about it. There was silverware in coach, I seem to recall, and free drinks, and the captain would point out places of interest 38,000 feet down.

They had to be big places of interest.

But that was during the era that we thought was reality, as opposed to a blip of prosperity that seemed permanent but wasn’t. I can remember flying first class on a 747 – in those days, I was working for companies that sent employees top drawer all the way, hang the expense.

“I like to arrive refreshed when I reach Paris,” one executive told me.

“Oh, so do I,” I said fervently, never having arrived in Paris in any shape in my life. And first-class Air France was like a high-speed version of the court of Caesar Augustus. I expected to see a suckling pig butchered before my eyes as twinkly-eyed stewardesses (as they were called) carried jeroboams of Champagne for carousing passengers.

7 Life Lessons From The Very Wealthy

At ElJet we are big fans of Barry Ritholtz we enjoy him for his overall wit, and market insights. You can follow his blog “The Big Picture” by clicking this link here.

He recently wrote an article about very wealthy individuals whom we have the pleasure of working with on a daily basis. His article resonated and we have decided to post it here.

Money won’t buy happiness, but it will pay the salaries
of a large research staff to study the problem.
Bill Vaughan

Please excuse the very wealthy for feeling a bit under siege lately.

Taxes for the top 2 percent are very likely to go higher. Uncle Sam’s share of capital gains and dividend income might rise, and means-testing for Social Security and Medicare is probable. In the United States, the very rich hold most of that wealth in dollars, which are worth increasingly less. As income inequality has grown dramatically in the nation, the very wealthy are blamed for all manner of social ills.

Rather than pile on the wealthy, this week I’d like to approach the subject of money a little more philosophically. There are surprising insights to be gleaned from the experiences of the very wealthy regarding their investments and experience with wealth.

Private Jet Charter Continues To Rebound

The private jet charter industry is continuing to rebound after a tough few years.

As the industry and global economy contracted, many older aircraft were retired and weaker charter operators filed for bankruptcy. This has helped to make the current US charter fleet much younger but also aircraft available for charter more restricted.

At ElJet we have survived through the tougher times due to our strong balance sheet and commitment to customer service. As we sit in the front row watching the industry come back we have noticed the following trends.

  • Reduced demand by managed fleet operators - As owners who have their aircraft in managed fleets are utilizing their aircraft more. Hours available for charter customers have declined.
  • Higher Fuel Prices – Higher fuel prices have led to increased costs for the charter consumer (and operators). This has led to an increase in charter prices year over year (YOY).
  • Less price flexibility – Operators have been less willing to negotiate pricing as demand continues to return.
  • Large Cabin / Short Leg Flights – Operators have been less willing to do short haul flights (1 hour or less each way) on large cabin (Heavy Jets) as the wear on the aircraft vs. the potential revenue equation is no longer attractive.
  • Short Notice Flights – Its more imperative than ever to book in advance. If you are planning a summer trip now would be the time to lock in your aircraft so that you can have the best choice of aircraft and to ensure that you receive optimal pricing.

We are very pleased to say that we are on track for another record breaking year. We at ElJet are committed to value and hope that we can assist you with future flights. To get the best pricing we encourage our customers to book in advance. We are standing by 24/7 to assist you with all of your travel needs at 888-355-3538.
