Step 2: Please let us know your travel dates, the number of passengers and desired aircraft type.
Step 3: Your Travel Portfolio Manager will provide you with a rough estimate of the cost of your flight.
Step 4: If the estimate is within your travel budget, we will then work to secure an aircraft for you.
Step 5: You will be presented with different options based upon the criteria specified.
Step 6: You will be sent a Jet Charter Broker Services contract.
Step 7: You will be asked to fax or email us your completed 3 page charter contract to 610-646-3787, along with a copy of your driver’s license and major credit card.
Step 8: We require funds within 24 hours of your departure time. We accept wire transfers and checks, as long as the funds have cleared prior to departure.
Step 9: You will be given a complete itinerary with the FBO’s (i.e. private aviation terminal) you will be using at departure and arrival, aircraft tail number, a Wyvern Safety Report, the operator’s name and contact numbers, the pilot’s name and contact numbers, and any other pertinent travel information.
Step 10: Enjoy your flight knowing that your ElJet representative is following your flight and making sure that all of the details, from catering to car service, are being handled.
A light jet typically seats 6-8 people and has about 2-3 hours of range. Midsize jets are larger and have about 3-4 hours of range and often seat up to 9 passengers comfortably. Heavy jets typically offer full stand- up cabins, seat up to 14 passengers in full comfort, and have a range of 7-9 hours (or more). Q:How far in advance should I book a charter flight? A:We always recommend booking your flight as soon as your schedule has been set. The earlier you book, the wider the choice of available aircraft on your travel dates, and the better deal we can secure for you. However, we are also experts in last minute travel. So if you have unexpected travel requirements, give us a call. We can get you on your way – often within hours. (Our record is 45 minutes from the initial phone call to wheels up!) Q:How does ElJet pricing compare to jet cards or fractional shares? A:ElJet’s pricing is always lower than jet cards or fractional shares. Did you know that jet card and fractional companies often charter flights themselves when their fleets cannot handle the volume of flights they are doing? Jet cards and fractional shares also require upfront payment and often don’t tell you about some of the drawbacks of their programs, such as fuel surcharges, occupied hourly fees, or partial hour rounding-up (i.e. a 45 minute flight is deducted from your account as an hour flight). With ElJet your costs are defined up front and you pay as you go. There are no unpleasant surprises. Q:How do I know that the aircraft is safe? A:ElJet works only with FAA Part 135 approved charter operators for all domestic flights and only the most qualified international operators. We provide a comprehensive Wyvern Pass Safety Report with each flight. The Wyvern Pass Report includes the aircraft history, insurance information, crew hours, etc. If the report does not get a green check (which means it has passed a stringent review), the flight will not depart. A:As part of our safety policy there will always be two pilots on any flight booked with ElJet. Q:Do you own or manage aircraft? A:We do not. As a charter broker we work with thousands of FAA Part 135 approved operators throughout the U.S. and the world. So while your local operator may have access to a few airplanes, at ElJet we have access to thousands. Q:What are the benefits of using ElJet over my local operator? A:Every trip is different. There are many factors and variables that can determine how to get the best deal on your private jet charter flight. For example, is this a same-day round-trip or a longer stay of two nights or more? How many passengers will be traveling with you? What kind of aircraft do you require?

Does your trip require a one-way flight or an extended stay itinerary? We have the most comprehensive data on current aircraft positioning and can often match you up with empty-leg – or one-way – flights, which can provide significant savings over booking a round-trip flight. Q:What are empty legs and how can I benefit from them? A:ElJet provides value for private jet charter customers by utilizing empty leg (or “deadhead”) flights whenever possible. Empty legs are flights that are booked for only one way. They return to the starting point empty. This typically means a loss for the aircraft owner, who will often charter the empty leg portion of the flight at a significant discount to recoup some of his/her expenses. Empty legs have been an industry headache since the creation of the aircraft charter industry. ElJet relieves some of that pain, much to the delight of the operator, and our clients who receive private jet service at a discount. Q:Can I book a one way flight? A:You certainly can. That is our specialty at ElJet. If we can’t find a matching empty leg, we can still often provide one-way pricing with the many one-way operators we work with. Q:How will I know where to go? How will I know which jet is mine? A:Upon booking your flight with ElJet, we will send you a packet that will include all the important information related to your flight. You will be given a complete itinerary with the FBO’s (i.e. private aviation terminal or general aviation terminal) for both departure and arrival, the aircraft tail number, a Wyvern Safety Report, the operator’s name and contact numbers, the pilots’ names and contact numbers, and any other pertinent travel information. Just walk into the FBO and tell the receptionist your name and the tail number of the aircraft you will be using. You’ll be on your way in no time.|
By the way, FBO stands for Fixed Base Operator. Private jet terminals or general aviation terminals are typically referred to as FBO’s. These private jet terminals are usually set up with lounges, snacks, conference rooms, internet access and provide fuel and other services for pilots and passengers. Q:How soon before my departure time should I arrive at the airport? A:That is the beauty of chartering a private jet. You set the schedule. We recommend showing up at the FBO or general aviation terminal 5 minutes prior to departure on domestic flights and 15 minutes prior to departure for international flights. If you are running a few minutes late, don’t let it worry you – after all this is your jet, and you can leave whenever you want. Q:Do I have to go through commercial security lines? A:You do not. You will be entering the airport through a general aviation terminal or what is commonly called an FBO (Fixed Base Operator). If the airport you are traveling through requires a security check, it will be quick (no lines), and painless. Q:Can I avoid customs by using a charter jet? A:No. However the customs process for private jet charter travelers is expeditious and will be over in no time. Q:Will my jet have WiFi? A:Some aircraft are equipped with WiFi others are not. If having WiFi on board your aircraft is important to you, please let us know so that we can make sure to present a Wi-Fi equipped aircraft to you. Q:Are dogs or other pets allowed? A:Usually. Most operators and aircraft owners do allow your furry friends on board. Some companies may require a cleaning charge. We recommend checking with your Travel Portfolio Manager if your travel plans include your pet. Q:Can I bring an oxygen tank on the jet? A:Yes, you typically can. Please check with your Travel Portfolio Manager in advance to make sure the operator is aware of the oxygen tank. Q:Should I tip the crew? A:It’s up to you. Some people do, others don’t. There is no right or wrong, though the pilots never mind a little bonus. Q:What if I’m traveling with a large group? A:At ElJet we can accommodate groups up to 30 passengers. If your group is larger than 30 passengers, we can refer you to companies that specialize in large group travel. Q:Can I book a flight for under $1,000? A:It has happened but is not very common. Q:I only need two seats. Can you match me up with someone going on the same route so I can buy just two seats? A:Unfortunately we do not offer shared flights.
