Discover the ElJet Difference
The small landlocked Florida city of Orlando was put on the map by the launch of the world-famous Walt Disney World in 1971. Since then it has become the world’s leading family vacation destination with endless attractions. Universal Studios, Sea World and LegoLand are among the impressive theme parks built to rival Disney’s. If you have kids, or are a big one yourself, there’s a good chance you will be making the trek to Orlando to experience Disney World and beyond. A private jet charter to Orlando is sure to keep smiles on the faces of the entire family from start to finish.
The other major draw of private charters to Orlando are the multitude of conventions and conferences held there. The city’s Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) is the second-largest convention complex in the U.S., and Orlando is a contender for hosting the most convention attendees in the U.S. each year.
Three international and one regional airport serve the Greater Orlando Area. The busiest of these is the commercial Orlando International Airport (KMCO), located six miles southeast of Downtown Orlando. With the constant rush of tourists to the city, it is understandably the busiest of the area’s airports so if you are flying by private charter to Orlando consider one of the three lesser traveled airports so you can avoid the air and ground traffic of KMCO. Orlando Executive Airport (KORL) accommodates both international and domestic charter flights to Orlando and located just three miles east of Downtown Orlando is the ideal option for those headed to theme parks or the OCCC. Thirty miles northeast of the city in the suburb of Sanford is Orlando Sanford International Airport (KSFB). While it is the Orlando area’s secondary commercial airport, it’s distance from downtown and the major theme parks means it sees far less traffic. Twenty-five miles south of downtown is Kissimmee Gateway Airport (KISM) which allows domestic charters only.
Year-round sunshine means there is no true “off-season” in the Orlando. While the summers are definitely steamy and the winters are pleasant, more consideration should be given to tourism than weather than when planning your trip. Any time kids are off school – summer, winter holidays, spring break, long weekends – are the busiest times in Orlando. To minimize long waits and crowds at the theme parks, schedule your visit to Orlando around these peak periods. With the city hosting large numbers of convention-goers as well, make sure you book your hotel room in advance.
